Ginger LaChapelle has over 20 years of experience representing sponsors of multiemployer and single employer plans in connection with all aspects of ERISA and tax compliance. Ms. LaChapelle takes great pride in her ability to simplify complex issues and provide straightforward advice to her clients. In addition to advising on issues arising in the day-to-day administration of all types of employee benefit plans, Ms. LaChapelle also regularly represents clients in governmental investigations initiated by the DOL, IRS, and PBGC. She also regularly advises clients on complicated investment related and fiduciary compliance matters.

Ms. LaChapelle first joined O’Donoghue & O’Donoghue in 2003, while completing her LL.M. in Taxation and Certificate in Employee Benefits Law at Georgetown University Law Center. Ms. LaChapelle rejoined the firm in 2023, after spending many years as a partner and co-chair of the Employee Benefits Practice Group at another nationally recognized labor and employment law firm. Prior to earning her LL.M., Ms. LaChapelle graduated cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law and Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.

Ms. LaChapelle is a long-time chapter editor of the ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law’s treatise, Employee Benefits Law, and union co-chair of the subcommittee dealing with qualified retirement plans. She also serves as the ABA Joint Committee of Employee Benefits co-liaison (scrivener) to the DOL. Ms. LaChapelle is a frequent public speaker on a wide range of employee benefits plan related topics, including cybersecurity, compliance with federal mandates, and investment fees and expenses.

Ms. LaChapelle is a member of both the District of Columbia and New York bars.
