David Capuano graduated from the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America in 1993. While in Law School , he was a member of the national Wagner Cup (Labor Law) Moot Court Cup team. He joined O’Donoghue & O’Donoghue in 1993 as an associate in their Washington , D.C. office. He joined the Philadelphia office in 1999.

David Capuano is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, as well as the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. While at O’Donoghue, David has represented unions and multi-employer and union benefit plans on a day-to-day basis as union or fund counsel. David has represented unions, employee benefit funds and other clients in federal and state courts at both the trial and the appellate level. With respect to benefit plans, he has handled collection matters, plan qualification issues, benefit claims and appeals processing, domestic relations order reviews and qualification, fiduciary duty issues, investment issues, fund compliance with the Internal Revenue Code and ERISA, issues related to DOL and IRS compliance programs, plan and amendment drafting and negotiating and drafting service provider agreements. He regularly attends trustee meetings and advises trustees and fund staff on all legal aspects of fund administration. David has also represented clients in the areas of bankruptcy, real estate and insurance law.

David Capuano is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. David is a 1990 graduate of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia with a B.A. in Communications and a minor in Italian. He also attended the British Institute of Florence ( Italy ) and Vanderbilt University
